About LWC
LWC—short for Lyndsay Wilson Contracting—is a family-run building business based in Hokitika. Meet Lyndsay, the builder behind the brand.

Humble beginnings
Lyndsay began his career on the tools in his teens, learning the foundations of the building trade while working for his stepfather. He later moved into the signage industry, contributing to large-scale projects across Christchurch, Gore, and Hokitika. Over 15+ years, he ran his own sign company and honed skills in creativity, precision, and attention to detail — abilities he still applies in building today.

Experience where it matters
Over the years, Lyndsay has gained a wide range of experience. He has worked in window and door fabrication and installation, spent time in the electrical trade, and trained under a high-end carpenter specializing in detailed finishing work.
These experiences shaped his eye for detail, high standards and practical approach — skills he brings to every LWC project.

A return to building
In 2015, buying his first home brought Lyndsay back to the building trade. Eager to renovate it properly, he undertook an apprenticeship focused on quality workmanship and long-term results.
What started as a personal project quickly grew into a passion. Today, he takes satisfaction in helping others repair, improve, and add value to their homes — always doing the job right and building spaces that last.

LWC, est. 2022
LWC was established in 2022, built on years of hands-on experience and a simple approach: doing things with quality and honesty.
Today, Lyndsay brings that mindset to every project — focusing on quality workmanship, honest advice, and reliable service. No shortcuts, no unnecessary upselling — just solid work done to a high standard.
"Lyndsay consistently offered me good advice. He was focused on doing good quality work and was not prepared to rush any of the work to finish quicker. The quality of his work was generally very good."
